Posyandu Development Program
Starting from 2014, Bayer has developed a community health promotion program. In collaboration with the Family Welfare Development Program (PKK) of Cisalak sub-district Sukmajaya, Depok, West Java, Bayer guided 5 (five) Family Planning and development of Integrated Health Service Centres (Posyandu; Indonesian) in the area around the Bayer Cimanggis Plant.
The purpose of the Posyandu development program is to reduce infants and toddler’s mortality rate, decrease of birth rate, NKKBS acceptance (Norma Keluarga Kecil Bahagia Sejahtera, a government program) and to increase health-related activities that best serve the community’s needs. Capacity development activities were conducted in collaboration with stakeholders including providing additional facilities, infrastructure and trainings for community health post’s cadres. Bayer has appointed midwives to provide health education services to the community, which includes basic health, nutrition and specific healthcare on reproduction. Each Posyandu is adequately equipped with the supporting equipment such as baby scales, digital body scales, and height measuring equipment according to the standard needs of Posyandu.
Development activities that were done in 2017:
- Providing Supplementary Food (SF) following nutritional reference set by the national familyhealth standards (PKK). Bayer conducted workshop and coaching for 60 community health posts Cadres along with a SF workshop by a certified nutritionist. This activity is aimed to help the health cadres to developSF programs in line with national standards on nutrition.
- Signed Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Health Republic Indonesia for Posyandu health education program.
- A comparative review was done by health cadres from Posyandu Wijayakusuma from Coblong sub-district of Bandung, as national winner for 2017. This sharing session was aimed to inspire
