Bayer HealthCare and Bayer CropScience The Most Reputable and Admired Brands 2015 in Indonesia

PT Bayer Indonesia through its subsidiary companies, Bayer HealthCare and Bayer CropScience proved their impressive performance in Indonesian market by their achievement in national level awards.

Jakarta, June 12th, 2015 - Bayer Indonesia through the subgroups Bayer HealthCare and Bayer CropScience proved their excellence performance and succesfully achieved the most popular brand with the best image of this year, in two different awards.


Corporate image is not built in a day, but a result of long-term and continuos hard work and commitment of all units through integrated marketing communication (IMC).  Bayer CropScience successfully managed to synergize its IMC tools, and awarded with the 'Corporate Image Award 2015' as 'The Most Admired Company' in the category of Plant Protection.


This achievement is according to national survey by Frontier Consulting Group based on Corporate Image Index Framework. The framework generates the corporate image index (CCI) is measured on four basic dimensions: Quality, Performance, Responsibility, and Attractiveness.  As in previous years, the survey for Corporate Image Award 2015 included 123 industry categories and targeted four groups of respondents, from Public Communities (10%), Middle-Up Management (40%), Investors (30%), as well as Journalists (20%). The CCI final score determines the winner in each industrial category.


As the result, Bayer CropScience took the first position among multi-national competitors with CII score of 1,806 categorized as Excellent, and is recognised as ‘The Most Admired Company of Corporate Image Award 2015’ in the Crop Protection category. It exceeded PT DuPont Agricultural Products Indonesia (1.276), PT Syngenta Indonesia (0.839), PT BASF Indonesia (0.789), and PT Monsanto Indonesia (0.289).


Meanwhile, in a separated survey conducted by SWA Magazine, in colaboration with Onbee Marketing Research, Bayer HealthCare maintains the first position in multi-national pharmaceutical companies category.


Healthcare Most Reputable Award was first conducted in 2013 for 10 categories: private hospital, public hospital, health laboratorium, maternal and children hospital, beauty center, eye center, pharmaceutical company, hearing-aids, and health insurance. In 2015, the survey was conducted in January to March, involving 1,803 respondents by multistage random sampling method on 7 major Indonesian cities, Jabodetabek, Bandung, Semarang, Surabaya, Makassar, Medan, dan Denpasar.


Director of Onbee Marketing Research Sumardy explained that there were 3 variables used to measure the competitiveness from each of the industry. “The three variables we use, brand equity, customer loyalty, and customer experience, contribute to business performance. Brand equity will attract and ensure the customer to come, customer experience ensures the patient to receive the best solution and optimal care, while customer loyalty shows how often the patient spends their time and suggests the institution to their friends and relatives.”


As in the previous year, PT Bayer Indonesia maintains its position on the first place for multi-national pharmaceutical companies category. Index details for Bayer HealthCare: brand equity (6.13), customer loyalty, (7.00) and customer experience (13.13), with total of 26.26. This high rating is due to the popularity of Bayer products in Indonesia, such as CDR (Calcium D Redoxon), CDR Fortos, Redoxon, Berocca, Supradyn, Tonikum Bayer, and dermatological products as Canesten and Bepanthen. Beside Bayer, the other four multi-national companies in the top five in this category are PT Otsuka Indonesia, PT Boehringer Ingelheim Indonesia, PT Merck Indonesia, and PT Pfizer Indonesia.


Alongside these awards, in global scale, Bayer also receives the third place among top global brands in an analysis of “Top 100 Most Powerful Brands of 2015” by the CoreBrand company. Bayer is selected as one of the thousands global brands and was analyzed for its high brand awareness and positive brand perception.
