Bayer HealthCare Cimanggis Plant

The Bayer HealthCare Cimanggis plant, located at Jalan Raya Bogor Km. 32, Cimanggis, Depok, West Java, began operating in 1974 or two years after construction commenced. This plant is one of five manufacturing facilities spread throughout the world that Bayer acquired when it took over Roche’s over-the-counter (OTC) business globally in January 2005.

Our Cimanggis plant stands on 102 thousand square metres of land and currently less than one fifth, or over 18 thousand is being used for manufacturing related facilities. This gives the plant excellent potential for additional manufacturing facilities that can serve demands globally.

Bayer sees Indonesia as both a key market in the region and a strategic location for manufacturing several of our global brands and pharmaceutical products. In the last few years, Bayer has invested over EUR 31,6 million into the facility and starting 2015, Bayer plans to invest an additional EUR 14,6 million ongoing investment for Pharma and capacity increase for Consumer Care, which will enable the plant to manufacture Pharmaceutical on top of the Consumer Care products that are already being produced there.

As a major part of Bayer’s network of global manufacturing facilities, Our Cimanggis plant is currently exporting 70% of its products to 20 countries, some of which have the most stringent pharmaceutical regulations. We are highly confident that with our world class Indonesian professional work force, state of the art manufacturing facility and Bayer’s science, we will more than double the number of destination countries within the next couple of years.
