CAS Combining Business Strategy with Corporate Compliance and HSEQ

Malaysia – The CAS ASEAN team from Bayer MaterialScience (BMS) met in Johor Bahru recently to discuss and identify business opportunities and challenges.

Besides business strategies, the team also participated in a presentation on Corporate Compliance by Mr Wayne Loo from the legal department of BMS Hong Kong. He reinforced the importance of corporate compliance in the business. In particular, he emphasized the critical issues of antitrust, corrupt business practices, confl ict of interests and knowhow protection.

Dr Uwe Zimmerman also presented on the HSEQ organization in Asia Pacifi c and its initiatives to ensure that products are used and handled safely.

Despite the full program, one evening was allocated to a team-building event, where the CAS team participated in an evening of ten pin bowling. Seven teams were carefully selected and the resulting competition was fierce – only the ten pins were safe!

At the end of the evening, the results were close, the winners were soon forgotten, and what remained were the memories of a pleasant event working with new and old colleagues in an atmosphere of team cooperation.
