SafeGuard Pricing - BMS SG (MAPICS) Project
Singapore – Bayer MaterialScience (BMS) recently embarked on a SafeGuard Pricing - BMS SG (MAPICS) project. This project is vital to guard against confl ict of interest and potential abuses due to process loopholes.
This project was set out to ensure that all local and export selling prices (invoicing from BMS SG) are above the limit price recommendation from the Regional Marketing Units (MU). In addition, it seeks to ensure proper documentation and authorisation for pricing approvals, and set up a clear process of releasing orders.
The project team comprises members from the various departments working as a team to improve current process and attain the objective of the project. The members were each assigned with different project tasks - e.g. the CS / CM team working closely with BBS to defi ne the system requirements for the setup in Mapics.
At the end of the project, BMS SG successfully achieved the following key deliverables :
• An auto-checking system in MAPICS which blocks orders with selling price lower than recommended MU limit price
• A workfl ow for MU limit price management
• An approval process to release blocked orders
• A template which facilitates MU to input its limit price
• Extension to customer's sample request process
• Documentation of the approved process
